Happy Holidays and gift wrapping concept for a music news blog.

Holiday Music Gems on YouTube

The holidays are upon us again, somehow. Rather than question how COVID-19 has messed with our heads where time is concerned, or whether the magnetic poles did something to the time-space continuum, I think we should just look on the bright side, embrace the holidays, and feel thankful that the season of love, hope, and giving is here already.

What better way to celebrate the holiday season and the New Year than with a holiday blog post from Music to My Ears? This year, I’ve decided to provide you with some of my favorite holiday cover song “hidden gems” from YouTube. I hope you check them all out and enjoy every one! Happy Holidays!

1. “Winter Wonderland,” Maroon 5

Maroon 5 performing “Winter Wonderland” on YouTube.

I discovered this video a few years ago, and it’s one of my favorite holiday/winter covers. It is also a great example of Adam Levine’s vocal talent.

2. “Wonderful Christmastime,” Kylie Minogue and MIKA

Kylie Minogue and MIKA, “Wonderful Christmastime,” on YouTube.

OH MY GOODNESS MIKA DID WONDERFUL CHRISTMASTIME. I love Kylie Minogue too! This is sooo much fun. It really revives the Paul McCartney classic. It’s not really hidden, but it’s a joy anyway.

3. “Let it Snow,” MIKA

“Let it Snow” as covered by MIKA on YouTube.

Another surprise MIKA gem! This is already my niece’s new favorite holiday song. MIKA’s sometimes throwback-vibe vocals and this classic suit each other well.

4. “White Christmas,” George Ezra

George Ezra performing “White Christmas” on YouTube.

Much like “Let It Snow” is perfect for MIKA, “White Christmas” is perfect for George Ezra. It fits his style and deep vocals to a T. It doesn’t get cozier than this.

Enjoy your holidays and your New Year 2021, readers! We’ll see you later in the winter for some new music recommendations and more.

What unique holiday tunes do you return to each year? Let me know in the comments!
