The Best Music-Themed Movies: Part 2

This is the second installment of a new series about my top ten favorites in a variety of music-related categories. Read on to learn about five more of my favorite music-themed movies.

6. Mamma Mia!

C’mon, who doesn’t love Mamma Mia?! Even if you somehow don’t like the re-imagined ABBA tunes, you can appreciate this funny romantic story that also touches on the importance of family bonds in all of their forms.

7. My Fair Lady

Sure, Marni Nixon isn’t credited as the singer for Audrey Hepburn’s role. No big deal, right? It makes Luke Wilson’s slight in Rock Dog interviews pale by comparison. It’s still a fun and awesome musical, though.

8. The Greatest Showman

If you haven’t seen The Greatest Showman yet, you really need to. It has important themes and is nearly as spectacular as Moulin Rouge! There’s another weird voice thing going on with Loren Allred and Rebecca Ferguson but aren’t we used to that stuff by now?

9. SING!

Some people compare this to Rock Dog. I am not among those people. I do, however, think this is another family-friendly treat with some great familiar tunes to enjoy.

10. Sing Street

I mainly love this because of the amazing music. It’s quite similar to Begin Again in style and some themes, which makes sense since they are from the same director.

As usual, feel free to share your thoughts below! See you next month.
